O9w Ozhn`9L+1! The smooth sounds of R&B with a gospel twist !! 6"
<(M@ ]=%6n@z' Though Public Mind is Nehemiah抯 first solo release, it is not Nehemiah抯 Fw*O ciC debut on the music scene. Raised in his father抯 church, Nehemiah has 2y \ogF been performing music in one form or another for most of his life. zRa2iCi Nehemiah had recorded his first song by the age of 12 and at the age of 15 ar\K8mj he headlined his first concert in his hometown of Portland, Oregon with Q-!gO the proceeds going toward teenage victims of domestic violence. It was ~#4FL<W after that concert that Nehemiah was convinced that he wanted to pursue 0{uaSR music professionally. 9R2"(.U $_,-ESI This pursuit has had its ups and downs but each one of them has shaped $5/d?q-ts{ who Nehemiah is today, both as an artist and as a person. The highlights :8j7}' of Nehemiah抯 early career included an appearance in the motion picture p!8phS#iP Reggie抯 Prayer, starring the late football star Reggie White. In Xtfs)" addition, Nehemiah appeared on a nationally syndicated talk show, took +Z2XP76(4A his live show to Canada, and opened up for the famed R&B/Gospel group, jVLJqWP'! Virtue. The experiences of his teenage years opened the door for M|j=J{r Nehemiah to later join Soul, a contemporary gospel group signed to a 9gdK&/ulR subsidiary of the Hendrix record label. This release spent 9 weeks on \{]y(GT the Billboard gospel charts and peeked at number 36. Though the group (5E09K$ was short-lived it provided Nehemiah the opportunity to tour the states -ycdg'v and establish relationships that would bear fruit in the years to come. <YtjE!2 WR`NISSp After briefly filling the lead vocalist spot in a group with producer HR J^ewG Crump (Beyonce), Nehemiah decided to focus on developing his solo project. P$0c{B4I His debut solo album, Public Mind, is the product of all of his life b1cVAfUP experiences, both good and bad. The mid-tempo track 揟hat Person?is a W1M322]>L celebratory autobiographical account of all that happened to Nehemiah as i7 21(1 he recognized all that Jesus Christ is. Another personal song, 揊ly Away,? $i6z)]rjg was written for his daughter, Amiah, who died several weeks after being N6of$p'N born. It is songs like these that helped the album find its title. T)OR HJ&, Nehemiah explains, 揟he title of the album is intended to communicate on ,Pcg+^A two levels. First, I wanted to emphasize that I identify with my audience. [FrLxU The things that they struggle with, I struggle with. The things that czU" trouble them, trouble me. Second, I wanted to show that this album is not V2`Ud[ simply a collection of songs, it is a window into my mind and life which I `Fo/RZOW have made public through this release.? AoOA.t6RVo ;3wO1'= Nehemiah lists artists ranging from Commissioned to Boyz II Men to Phil H<n"[u^@E Collins among his influences and the diversity of his personal palate comes fqY'Uq$= through in the diversity of the album. Nehemiah wrote and produced much of oSmETk\ the disc himself while also teaming with producers and songwriters Derek '8\9@wzv Clark (Fred Hammond), Anson Dawkins (Dawkins & Dawkins), Chris Turner D*[Jrq, (Singleton抯), Cole Brown (Michelle Williams) and his brother J.B. [`qdpzUp& (Benjiman). The production and vocals on the project are top notch, there ~Gz9pBv1 is nothing about Nehemiah抯 debut that sounds like the independent project e3W~6P it truly is. But while people will definitely respond to the impressive j*gJP
! vocals and banging tracks Nehemiah hopes they will especially be drawn to dr}PjwW% the stories. 揝ome of these songs are birthed out of experiences I抳e PZJ9f8V lived and some of them were born out of the experiences of my community. IQ_s]b;z Not all people will be able to relate to the exact details of every song but );VuZsmi I believe everyone will find themselves somewhere in each song. Each of T]Ai{@i them speaks of something true and real that we can all identify with. I 'sH_^{V2 look forward to hearing how people find their own stories in these songs.? S4 Uu/EX6S c`p'5qz Enjoy this quality rip !! <$zhNu~ M2|h.+[Q Like the album, please support the artist by buying the original.
