Though Public Mind is Nehemiah抯 first solo release, it is not Nehemiah抯 ;RW024  
debut on the music scene.  Raised in his father抯 church, Nehemiah has N~0~1 WQn  
been performing music in one form or another for most of his life.   N[j*Q 8X_  
Nehemiah had recorded his first song by the age of 12 and at the age of 15 a%N

he headlined his first concert in his hometown of Portland, Oregon with 0sGAC  
the proceeds going toward teenage victims of domestic violence.  It was G Z~W#*|V  
after that concert that Nehemiah was convinced that he wanted to pursue {OGv1\ol&  
music professionally. k]] e8>

This pursuit has had its ups and downs but each one of them has shaped I
zr_]%  
who Nehemiah is today, both as an artist and as a person.  The highlights $*N)\>~X  
of Nehemiah抯 early career included an appearance in the motion picture )|Xi:Zd5>  
Reggie抯 Prayer, starring the late football star Reggie White.  In ]O 8hkGa  
addition, Nehemiah appeared on a nationally syndicated talk show, took FNgC TO%  
his live show to Canada, and opened up for the famed R&B/Gospel group, ,5J}Wo?Q}  
Virtue.  The experiences of his teenage years opened the door for se]q~<&  
Nehemiah to later join Soul, a contemporary gospel group signed to a y{O817 \  
subsidiary of the Hendrix record label.  This release spent 9 weeks on p0bMgP  
the Billboard gospel charts and peeked at number 36.  Though the group 5* 3T+OK  
was short-lived it provided Nehemiah the opportunity to tour the states 5rPK7Jh`B  
and establish relationships that would bear fruit in the years to come. s!eB8lkcT

After briefly filling the lead vocalist spot in a group with producer HR %5rC`9^  
Crump (Beyonce), Nehemiah decided to focus on developing his solo project.    b

His debut solo album, Public Mind, is the product of all of his life XmI63W*  
experiences, both good and bad.  The mid-tempo track 揟hat Person?is a Y2

celebratory autobiographical account of all that happened to Nehemiah as 04}" n  
he recognized all that Jesus Christ is.  Another personal song, 揊ly Away,? )D>= \Me  
was written for his daughter, Amiah, who died several weeks after being *wNO3tP't  
born.  It is songs like these that helped the album find its title.   Di>

Nehemiah explains, 揟he title of the album is intended to communicate on /+g)J0

two levels.  First, I wanted to emphasize that I identify with my audience.   Lcow2 SbH

simply a collection of songs, it is a window into my mind and life which I au~}s |#

Nehemiah lists artists ranging from Commissioned to Boyz II Men to Phil \$[; d:9j  
Collins among his influences and the diversity of his personal palate comes ]aqg{XdGt  
through in the diversity of the album.  Nehemiah wrote and produced much of pj/w9j G6  
the disc himself while also teaming with producers and songwriters Derek ML-?#jNa<  
Clark (Fred Hammond), Anson Dawkins (Dawkins & Dawkins), Chris Turner SU80i`  
(Singleton抯), Cole Brown (Michelle Williams) and his brother J.B. dWDM{t\}\  
(Benjiman).  The production and vocals on the project are top notch, there \Zbi`;m?  
is nothing about Nehemiah抯 debut that sounds like the independent project 8AQ@?\Rc"2  
it truly is.  But while people will definitely respond to the impressive vAH`tPi>  
vocals and banging tracks Nehemiah hopes they will especially be drawn to KDEcR  
the stories.  揝ome of these songs are birthed out of experiences I抳e =*Ru2  
lived and some of them were born out of the experiences of my community.   H%^j yGS  
Not all people will be able to relate to the exact details of every song but c$AwJhl^]  
I believe everyone will find themselves somewhere in each song.  Each of Jh!'"7
