Though Public Mind is Nehemiah抯 first solo release, it is not Nehemiah抯 SRixT+E  
debut on the music scene.  Raised in his father抯 church, Nehemiah has #hOAG_a,

Nehemiah had recorded his first song by the age of 12 and at the age of 15 jE!W&0  
he headlined his first concert in his hometown of Portland, Oregon with )i;o\UU  
the proceeds going toward teenage victims of domestic violence.  It was 5Z`9L|3d  
after that concert that Nehemiah was convinced that he wanted to pursue .mse.$TK.^

This pursuit has had its ups and downs but each one of them has shaped %Tn0r|K  
who Nehemiah is today, both as an artist and as a person.  The highlights ,pgpu !  
of Nehemiah抯 early career included an appearance in the motion picture nI-^  
Reggie抯 Prayer, starring the late football star Reggie White.  In ;JK!dzi}  
addition, Nehemiah appeared on a nationally syndicated talk show, took <oE(I)r4,  
his live show to Canada, and opened up for the famed R&B/Gospel group, UY
_'F5X  
Virtue.  The experiences of his teenage years opened the door for !1:364  
Nehemiah to later join Soul, a contemporary gospel group signed to a ~vVsxC$.  
subsidiary of the Hendrix record label.  This release spent 9 weeks on R9/(z\'}  
the Billboard gospel charts and peeked at number 36.  Though the group `xO9xo#  
was short-lived it provided Nehemiah the opportunity to tour the states ?W%9H\;  
and establish relationships that would bear fruit in the years to come. %U.aRSf/

After briefly filling the lead vocalist spot in a group with producer HR oWZbfR9R  
Crump (Beyonce), Nehemiah decided to focus on developing his solo project.   BtyBZ8P;e  
His debut solo album, Public Mind, is the product of all of his life k-v@sb24_  
experiences, both good and bad.  The mid-tempo track 揟hat Person?is a em87`Hj^lo  
celebratory autobiographical account of all that happened to Nehemiah as 7,sslf2%K  
he recognized all that Jesus Christ is.  Another personal song, 揊ly Away,? FE)L?  
was written for his daughter, Amiah, who died several weeks after being (5SN=6O  
born.  It is songs like these that helped the album find its title.   G|Du/XYh  
Nehemiah explains, 揟he title of the album is intended to communicate on *o/Q#  
two levels.  First, I wanted to emphasize that I identify with my audience.   0<{+M`G/  
The things that they struggle with, I struggle with.  The things that ]yxRaW9f  
trouble them, trouble me.  Second, I wanted to show that this album is not a-t}L{~  
simply a collection of songs, it is a window into my mind and life which I :\+;5Se+l

Nehemiah lists artists ranging from Commissioned to Boyz II Men to Phil Hd1e9Q,:|  
Collins among his influences and the diversity of his personal palate comes ;t.LLd

the disc himself while also teaming with producers and songwriters Derek >taC_f06  
Clark (Fred Hammond), Anson Dawkins (Dawkins & Dawkins), Chris Turner #gw ys  
(Singleton抯), Cole Brown (Michelle Williams) and his brother J.B. hJ+;N  
(Benjiman).  The production and vocals on the project are top notch, there RtrESwtR  
is nothing about Nehemiah抯 debut that sounds like the independent project >k6RmN  
it truly is.  But while people will definitely respond to the impressive !$:lv)y  
vocals and banging tracks Nehemiah hopes they will especially be drawn to '$]

the stories.  揝ome of these songs are birthed out of experiences I抳e PQmgv&!DP  
lived and some of them were born out of the experiences of my community.   ; 7`y

I believe everyone will find themselves somewhere in each song.  Each of
