QUOTE: 专辑名称:Public Mind x5Ue"RMl+ 歌手姓名:Nehemiah Z2L7US- 唱片公司:Ruff Diamond Ent. 74
WKy 发行日期:2008年3月13日 ~?4BP%g-y 专辑流派:R&B gyQPQ;"H$2 !4a#);`G The smooth sounds of R&B with a gospel twist !! S"VO@)d G|*&owJ Though Public Mind is Nehemiah抯 first solo release, it is not Nehemiah抯 Q:j~
kutS| debut on the music scene. Raised in his father抯 church, Nehemiah has Ma'#5)D been performing music in one form or another for most of his life. m*L5xxc! Nehemiah had recorded his first song by the age of 12 and at the age of 15 $dxA7 `L he headlined his first concert in his hometown of Portland, Oregon with Qgf\"s the proceeds going toward teenage victims of domestic violence. It was Ge @qvP_ after that concert that Nehemiah was convinced that he wanted to pursue ^AShy`o^X music professionally. i)] f0F P(s:+ This pursuit has had its ups and downs but each one of them has shaped VJ8'T"^Hf who Nehemiah is today, both as an artist and as a person. The highlights ny%$BQM= of Nehemiah抯 early career included an appearance in the motion picture (j~T7og Reggie抯 Prayer, starring the late football star Reggie White. In ;"2VU" addition, Nehemiah appeared on a nationally syndicated talk show, took VP~(;H5% his live show to Canada, and opened up for the famed R&B/Gospel group, !7f,g vk Virtue. The experiences of his teenage years opened the door for mrq,kwM Nehemiah to later join Soul, a contemporary gospel group signed to a 33SCHQ subsidiary of the Hendrix record label. This release spent 9 weeks on cV"Ov@_.k the Billboard gospel charts and peeked at number 36. Though the group v8WT?% was short-lived it provided Nehemiah the opportunity to tour the states z9:yt5ar and establish relationships that would bear fruit in the years to come. (&1.!R[X L|Xg4Z After briefly filling the lead vocalist spot in a group with producer HR hH9~.4+*`g Crump (Beyonce), Nehemiah decided to focus on developing his solo project. eZ$M#I=o His debut solo album, Public Mind, is the product of all of his life 2">de/jS experiences, both good and bad. The mid-tempo track 揟hat Person?is a `rXb:P7m{j celebratory autobiographical account of all that happened to Nehemiah as t 9t
'9 he recognized all that Jesus Christ is. Another personal song, 揊ly Away,? !MrQ-B ( was written for his daughter, Amiah, who died several weeks after being eIEL';N6 born. It is songs like these that helped the album find its title. RH:vd|q+ Nehemiah explains, 揟he title of the album is intended to communicate on v`c;1 ?=,q two levels. First, I wanted to emphasize that I identify with my audience. *T#^|<.XG The things that they struggle with, I struggle with. The things that oY5`r)C7 trouble them, trouble me. Second, I wanted to show that this album is not $bD`B'5 simply a collection of songs, it is a window into my mind and life which I [mv!r-= have made public through this release.? c:52pYf+ mlCBstt{ Nehemiah lists artists ranging from Commissioned to Boyz II Men to Phil L
}3eZ- Collins among his influences and the diversity of his personal palate comes d``wx}#Uk through in the diversity of the album. Nehemiah wrote and produced much of o<J6KTLv the disc himself while also teaming with producers and songwriters Derek _-sFJi8B Clark (Fred Hammond), Anson Dawkins (Dawkins & Dawkins), Chris Turner QFnpp\K (Singleton抯), Cole Brown (Michelle Williams) and his brother J.B. +*w}H
0Z (Benjiman). The production and vocals on the project are top notch, there )7]yzc is nothing about Nehemiah抯 debut that sounds like the independent project SuB8mPn it truly is. But while people will definitely respond to the impressive gTgoS:M"_O vocals and banging tracks Nehemiah hopes they will especially be drawn to +I-BqA9 the stories. 揝ome of these songs are birthed out of experiences I抳e kh{3s:RQfC lived and some of them were born out of the experiences of my community. C=|8C70[%N Not all people will be able to relate to the exact details of every song but ok [_Z; I believe everyone will find themselves somewhere in each song. Each of yf;TIh%)= them speaks of something true and real that we can all identify with. I ahIDKvJ4 look forward to hearing how people find their own stories in these songs.? _g
