In 1996, Fran Healy borrowed 600 from his mum to pay for the recording of 5DS'22GW`
Travis's very fi rst single. That track, the rousingly self-descriptive All I 7GDrH/yK
Want To Do Is Rock, was released on the band's own label, Red Telephone Box, jnIf(a
with a sleeve designed by Healy. Only 750 copies were %f1>cO9[
made, but that was enough to kick-start a career for the four Glaswegian pals .H#<yPty
which has since reaped numerous hit singles, awards, platinum-selling albums and UAEu.AT
festival headline slots. Famous Now, twelve years on, the band have made 'Ode To UlQS]f~
J Smith', their loudest, edgiest and most arresting record since that formative tDQuimYu7
track. Fittingly, they're revived Red Telephone Box to release it, with Healy ]9PQKC2&
once again handling artwork duties. The big difference this time is that, having Me2qOc^Z-
shifted ten million albums in the intervening period, Mrs Healy's funding was m&a 8/5
