The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD l\0PwD
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it MMk9rBf
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The (~Bm\Jn
first single from the new album, the Buble penned Q}Ah{H0C
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed 0Gj/yra9MO
by the artist on The Today Show on the day of the release. }WJX Q@

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record NI"Zocp
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to #IGcQY
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th uxdB}H,
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, (XR}U6^v]
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. +Y*4/w[

Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy wx-&(f
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of -hfDf{QN
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric 7h(
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny K8KN<Q s]
Mercer and others. \1-lda
Q(x=;wf5r
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, Jv 5l
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad p]X+#I<
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men iuqJPW^}
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian 1xtS$^APcd
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the Dd0yQgCu
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these R4)l4rnO
two voices from two totally different generations \8*j"@ !H
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is ?mV2|;
universal and ageless. *fd:(dN|
n9 bp0#K
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're *kf%?T.
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, Y: C qQ
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this O>f*D+A-
record is about." 3#""`]9H
r#j3O}(n
Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award ,]qc#KDq-1
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a _eQ-'")
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on ;E{@)X..|
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour eJ[+3Wh
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. /QlzWson
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 B~Z61
million copies and has remained on the Billboard Grw[h
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in \p\p~FVS
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time R/B/|x
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate zB7 ^L^Y
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage ho#<?rh_
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he O d6'bO;G
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis we}5'bS>
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," vGH]7jht
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. ]9<H[5>$R
@d5t%V\
Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third lZ"C~B}9:I
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with Pr1OQbg]8
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under BD.l5 ~:
his belt can sum it up in one word. f/kYm\Zc
#RdcSrw)W!
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? ,rY}IwM w
_M>S=3w
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than >Ir?)h
the first two - that it had to show growth without IAmMO[9H
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there q|lP?-j
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put ~T._ v;IT
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I _s=<Y^l%x
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, oY\;KPz
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in ,ueA'GZ
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually m*e8j[w#
beautiful." L]X Lv9J0
6!U~dt#a
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As H]dN'c-
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's tnX W7ej^
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's  pXNH
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s \u/=?b
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a +miL naO~L
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard c!$~_?]
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and v49 i.c9
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including grd fR`3
the first single, the uplifting love song called EL *l5!Iu
"Everything." hg^k lQD
C0>)WVCK
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver Ac>G F
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, 3\B~`=*q/
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New qm=9!jqC;
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely ,+5 !1>\
at home on the stage." .KYDYdoS'
|z)7XK
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the (WGEX(|
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will X=k|SayE8
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new lzz68cT
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is ]V"B`ip[2
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many 8L))@SA+uJ
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the JkNRXC:
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with %)r1?H} #%
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," I\82_t8
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). H//,qxDc
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had Nu; 9
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry y|#Fu
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded _lOyT$DN
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, AIwp2Fz
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff N1]P3
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David `b5pa`\4
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it ; JHf0
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and ZN`I4Ak
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" XCO;t_%
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the M`G#cEc
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - lHgmljn5u
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called o l+*Oe
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. )9rJ]D^B
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy PkdL] !:
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their O/f+B}W
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't bO gVC g
worry too much about that.'" ){i 9,u")
]*AQT7PH
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s vQ DlS1L
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from !o`h*G-x
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, vj<JjGP
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and ?w"zW6U
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for 5SHZRF(. 2
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships WS ^%< h#
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't xR5zm %\
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end RMxFo\TK;
a relationship and still be there when they need you. <a%RKjQvT
That's basically what it's about." $%3%&+z$I
RZ:= ';
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad p!~V@l
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian #; >v,Jo
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered [`|gj
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. 'W J3q|o/
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? XRWy#Pj
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, #uH%J<U
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that *#CUZJN\
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil,  i(n BXV{
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact i~EFRI@
same thing to both of us." _{YUWV50}
rIWQD%Afm
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, ?hnxc0 ~P
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," |]x>|Z?/u
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who XlU`jv+
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's 77p8|63
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, O3["5
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song 9g`o+U{
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same 5TS&NefM
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? mvt%3zCB!
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to _tQR3I5
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my J`d;I#R%c
life is what really makes it worthwhile." z[0B"f
[$%O-_x
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank m e&'BQ
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes 9._owKj
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the Z+G/==%3#,
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the <K zEn+
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to QL`Hb p
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he aLt2fB1)
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite xy[aZr
things about the record." Ipyr+7/zJ
Ni-@El99
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, \d}>@@U&
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which 8XdgtYm
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra bOS; 1~~
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer 6h:2,h pE
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael :2(U3~3:
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship YzVhNJWpw
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a 2*ByVK
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the ^n&_JQIXb
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without bn6WvC 3?
them." jPa"|9A
fm1yZX?`
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he ?n(OH~@$i
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of yttaZhK^u
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a _|I`A6`=
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? =a^}]k}
spent the months his parents were away with his Bw25+l Px
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to dh S7}n
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, (]N- HN]v
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. Yh2[ nF_
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could S^T ><C
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were K2 6`wt
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." h1 pEC
chA7R'+LA
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of !\5w<*p8
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his ]+A%3 7
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure V;29ieE!
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met \45F;f_r6
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to (5a:O (\r
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste c8 Je&y8
in music. His debut album was an international smash, 2mEvoWnJ
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his RG_.0'5=hc
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The "Tz'j}< 9C
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, ! G3Gr
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts `IV7\}I|
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for YpI|=mv
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. n#^ii/H
=~_
But along with his passion for creating great music in the 'S%H"W\
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael Q@KCODi
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. S`8Iu[Ma
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. 5Ky(C6E$s
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. JIPBJ
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, hjD%=Ri0Z
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just ?W2u0N
to take them away." rld8hFj
4-m6e$p;
Special edition includes the bonus track "Love" vb6kr?-i*
