The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD dEBcfya
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it 2VW}9O
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The Kn+S,1r
first single from the new album, the Buble penned s {^yj
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed +_-bJo2a

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record l & Dxg
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to t1E[uu,V8
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th 6c0>gUQx-
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, /0\ mx4u
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. @FdSFQ/9
#plY\0E@
Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy ~>9_(L
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of lKk/p^:
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric Q)"A-"y
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny &.TTJsKG h
Mercer and others. Ym;*Y !~[
cqxVAzb
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, +r3IN){jz
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad 8[6o (
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men q7u'_ R,;
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian = k\J<
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the @F(mi1QO
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these 0!v ->Dk
two voices from two totally different generations 1;<R#>&,*
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is x@8a''
universal and ageless. KZ~*Nz+H2
G "P4-
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're f6$b s+oP
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, q -8t'7
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this zbJT&@z
record is about." iR"N13
;c$J=h]
Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award G:g69=x y
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a O|_h_I-2
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on C]Q8:6b
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour QeF3qXI
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. FVh U^
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 N&@}/wzZ
million copies and has remained on the Billboard gv5*!eI
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in U*.0XNKp{
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time }-~l!
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate s&'QN=A
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage YJ$1N!rG
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he m,fAeln
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis -*.-9B~u
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," ! VjFW5'{
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. Sp@-p9#
V59(Z
Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third eYx Kp!f
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with tBpC: SG
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under EqI(|bFwy
his belt can sum it up in one word. =-p$jXVW%
7g_]mG [6
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? P;4w*((} ~
w&ak"GgV
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than O*#*%RL|
the first two - that it had to show growth without b+Br=Fv"T
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there `p+Zz"/
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put Y))NK'B5
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I ^j7azn
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, *2jK#9"MP
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in r&FDEBh
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually Yw0[[N<SW
beautiful." bJs9X/E
@B}aN@!/
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As 4[N^>qt =
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's 43=,yz2Ef
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's ,a#EW+" Z
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s 5atYOep
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a 8_N]e'WUh
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard ;| 1$Q!4
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and <tioJG{OT
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including ?,/U^rf^4
the first single, the uplifting love song called NIw\}[-Z0E
"Everything." (y^vqMz
1)Zf3Y8
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver n?V+dC=F}
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, -lv)tHs<
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New g:EVhuK
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely 1@$Ko5
at home on the stage." fDSv?crv
P9 Z}H(?C
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the )2M>3C6>f
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will ~y7jCcd`
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new = 9 T$Gr
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is 64 5z#_}C$
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many iTaWup
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the J[&b`A@.o
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with M9f35 :
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," ]kboG%Dl?9
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). RD.V'`n"
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had I|Gp$ uq _
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry l} qE 46EL
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded ^b %0 B
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, 4f<$4d^md
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff Q%f|~Kl-hd
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David <m'ow
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it M8u<qj&<O
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and N?.%?0l
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" V dn&c
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the IH"6? 9nd
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - Nv"EV;$
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called .aflsUD
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. yxc=Z0~1
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy =Qn ;_+Ct
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their $.bBFWk
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't 9H%X2#:fH
worry too much about that.'" &y#r;L<9
VJS8)oI~
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s +$Rt+S BD
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from I"`M@ %
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, 9VbOQ{8
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and /Ju;MeE9
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for t2"FXTAq
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships y a_<^O 9
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't nqf,4MR
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end Ot`VR&}
a relationship and still be there when they need you. 7sXxq4
That's basically what it's about." ,#8e_3Z$
n..g~ $k
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad e$pMsw'MJ
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian BXyo
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered C$5[X7'
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. %!1Q P[}K
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? QeK*j/
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, `ta7Gc/:UY
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that *Aa?yg:=
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, fYW6b[lI
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact %D[0nt|X
same thing to both of us." 5>TK^1 :
l\n@cQR
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, kTvd+TP4
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," &e8s65`
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who t N2Md}@e
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's 0c#/hFn
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, 7t*"%]o
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song ZGd!IghL
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same &%/7E_j7
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? b2FO$Os
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to gatB QwJb9
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my cA:*V|YV `
life is what really makes it worthwhile." mbueP.q[?
.AU)*7Gh
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank ',S'.U
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes [#sz WNfU
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the L~KM=[cn
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the d0,s"K7@
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to ;"m ,:5%
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he Xp}Yw"7
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite jfqopiSi
things about the record." ~appY Av
/QJ?bD#a
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, DX|# gUAm
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which f^.AD-
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra X<*U.=r)
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer Alxx[l\<J
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael eD#hpl
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship :*2ud(
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a (!zy{;g|
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the NW&b&o
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without IOV(seEY
them." ]S5JUAGkE*
icgSe:Ci
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he X ' "SVO.
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of pLzk
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a RnDt)3
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? z'EajBB\f
spent the months his parents were away with his v@d
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to :EA\)@^$R
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, TU 1I} ,
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. *v3]}g[<
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could ` 5C~
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were D= h)&
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." O7$hYk
~7Tc$ "I
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of =pC3~-;3
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his x a06i#
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure (#E.`e1#6
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met smDw<slC
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to E}tqQ*u
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste ' >rw(3
in music. His debut album was an international smash, r'*}TM'8
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his : 7`[$<~E
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The h|"9LU4a
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, .?Gd'Lp
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts jav#f{'
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for 1wP-
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. #*(t d<Cp

But along with his passion for creating great music in the $+I;oHWI
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael heK7pH7;d
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. n;T7=1_"
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. UZpIcj cL
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. a)'5Nw9*
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, %&Q$dzgb_
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just ~7zGI\= P@
to take them away." _&b4aW9<
