The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD D ,[yx='
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it +=sw&DH
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The [X*u`J
first single from the new album, the Buble penned 7m}fVLk
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed }'K-1:
by the artist on The Today Show on the day of the release. ,sT5TS q

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record <kWkc|z BY
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to "=V!-+*@G@
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th U2v;GIo$yU
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, <(H<*Xf9
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. 0%)T]SDS
k= &n>P
Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy }7_$[r'_oI
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of hD4>mpk
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric 0 ZSn r+
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny rK|("
Mercer and others. U*,\UF
d]MpE9@'v
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, C~C`K%7
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad X,{[R |
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men e3?z^AUXm
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian wuM'M<J@
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the RE4WD9n
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these qh6rMqq
two voices from two totally different generations }0iHf'~DH*
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is Sh?eb
universal and ageless. qW'L}x
J~50#vHY
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're y|zIu I-p
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, >]o>iOz;]
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this v["_t/_
record is about." !~V^GlY

Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award c _!!DEe7
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a ;--D?Gs]Qr
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on *||Q_tlz
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour TKgN31`
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. 4YR{ *
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 Uv652DC
million copies and has remained on the Billboard _dmG#_1
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in 96P&+
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time NEvNj
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate MSRk|0Mcr
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage i0zrXaKV
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he $PAAmaigi
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis '+3C2!
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," 6 N:Ps8Hg
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. i"pOYZW1

Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third 7[!dm_
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with ~>P(nI
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under 6As%<g=
his belt can sum it up in one word. Dwr 9}Z-]
YBR)S_C$_
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? Z`U+ a
OiS\tK?|GV
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than Rjv;[
the first two - that it had to show growth without 4O/IT1+A
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there X8-x$07)
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put ?~(#~3x
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I /+8VW;4|I
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, KY%{'"'u
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in rs( e
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually f re5{=@
beautiful." pLys%1hg
)xKW
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As 5G$ ,2i(
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's Y*\N{6$2
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's f=u +G
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s Z0<s -eN:
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a w=a$]`
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard .U44p*I
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and S#r|?GYua
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including x 4sIZe+
the first single, the uplifting love song called 3^xq+{\)
"Everything." y)a)VvU":
&U7h9o H
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver 1N:~5S}s>
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, i]L=M 5^C
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New - ZyY95E<
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely ek]nLN
at home on the stage." E@n~ @|10
]f&f_"D
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the e+D]9wM8
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will _[-W*,xJ)
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new xR|^{y9n
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is C'R6mz%Q?
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many |0?v4%g
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the 2eA.04F
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with 3D1y^I
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," !pkIaCxs
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). S^|U"
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had z Tz_"N I
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry }/,Rp/+7]
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded ~P"Agpx3u
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, RA;/ ?l
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff xI~A Z:m
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David }P-C-L{yE(
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it {@3v$W~7M
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and 8lGM>(:o
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" ,<)D3K<
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the L F} d
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - EtaKo}!A}
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called ! K_<hNG&
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. Cl-P6NlR".
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy ] $r].,&
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their yT5OFD|T
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't >cg)Nq D
worry too much about that.'" nk7>iK!i
0NKgtH~+
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s k0#s{<I]E
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from wfpl]d!
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, 'GX x|.
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and zy nX9t
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for C"B'Dj
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships ,UNk]vd
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't R=&-nC5e
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end 4Orq;8!BW
a relationship and still be there when they need you. Y:L[Iz95o
That's basically what it's about." ]8DTk!
s2wDJ|
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad F:q8.^HTJ
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian bt_c$TN
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered B RskxyL&,
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. ;1 {=t!z=
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? UnP<`z#
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, (GC5r#AnS
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that V$O6m|q
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, LjTSu9I>
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact .`5|NUhN
same thing to both of us." |+::sL\r
qNP)oU92
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, FQ1B%u|
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," s }OL)rW=}
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who a0gg<Ml
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's dcD#!v\0
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, & rD8ng+$
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song D4|Ajeo;1
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same [ }Tb2|
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? r@qLG"[\c
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to k ,+,,W
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my PnInsf%;
life is what really makes it worthwhile." ,Xfu?Yan
]1Wxa?
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank cs*E9
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes ~;H,cPvrEg
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the CfP-oFHoQ
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the 3S]Q IZ1
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to %.r \P@7/Q
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he p9u*l
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite .5o~^
things about the record." /|P{t{^WM
k'H[aYMA
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, %;v~MC @
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which l9="ccM
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra "aCB}
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer #k|f>D4
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael =E%@8ZbK
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship adIrrK
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a zIu/!aw
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the * jWh4F,
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without Z_xQ2uH$:
them." n8=D zv0
>yXhP6
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he 1Q!^*D
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of 2EZ7Vdz2
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a !#W>x49}
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? 0F%8d@Y2
spent the months his parents were away with his d=%NFCIV
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to ncOgSj7e
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, zPqJeYK
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. }F!Uu KR
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could 2w8cJadT'p
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were ej&.tNvq
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." ,52 IR[I<T
[f6BA|
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of amC)t8L?
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his Ao}<a1f
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure gj @9(dk%
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met cnQ2/ZZp~
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to 3~Fag1Hp
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste SJa>!]U'xI
in music. His debut album was an international smash, P-gjSE|yh
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his r(uo-/7z
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The oxN5:)
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, N<a %l J
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts XX%K_p`&Z
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for u*P@Nuy6
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. OObAn^bt
gjN'D!'E1D
But along with his passion for creating great music in the =RD>#'sUK
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael !Md6Lh%-w
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. }EkL[H!
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. J( XDwt
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. (?R!y -
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, M(K7xx+G
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just P658 XKE
to take them away." -sKtT 9o
