The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD k?;@5r)y-
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it M(U<H;Csk
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The 4DgH/Yo
first single from the new album, the Buble penned ]%2y`Jrl^W
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed 6]|-%
by the artist on The Today Show on the day of the release. z'&tmje[?

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record _;mA(j

begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th {|B 2$1':
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, S| |OSxZ
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. $d*PY_

Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy d6e$'w@(\T
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of M2Jb<y]
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric hem>@Bp'V
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny n{I1ZlEeh
Mercer and others. ,L=lg,lH^
Yb\d(k$h
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, :/R>0n,
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad t{-*@8Ke
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men : G'a"%x
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian Le V";=_n
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the 7/zaf
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these @TJ2 |_s6]
two voices from two totally different generations 8?N![D\@
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is QlMv_|`9
universal and ageless. K=1prv2
s`en8%
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're ]E $bK
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, >rXDLj-e
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this 7.kgQ"?&
record is about." HX{K5+

Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award ?vP6~$*B
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a "*LQr~k~}
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on y!c<P,Lt3f
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour '#a;n
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. &$heW,
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 [jR >.H'
million copies and has remained on the Billboard 0Ibe~!EiQJ
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in q"i]&dMr
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time VCzb[.
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate G 2`hEX%
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage ++ZP X'|
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he K'f^=bc I
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis !l5@L\
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," E9\u^"GVO
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. v7/k0D .
! u@JH`
Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third ZypK''&oc
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with \M;cF "e-S
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under qpjiQ,\:b
his belt can sum it up in one word. \]0#jI/:
OX7a72z
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? \dbaY:(
d;nk>6<|
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than RI<&cgWn+<
the first two - that it had to show growth without R*?!xDJ
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there ^Y%<$IFG
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put 6_&S ?yA
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I "E@A~<RKP
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, z31g"
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in nRyx2\Py+
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually yeam-8
beautiful." ,Jx.Kj.,
c!GJS`/
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As {v"Y!/ [z
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's 9g|99Z
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's e8M0Lz#}
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s DVt^O [
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a D`fIw` _
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard _>bk'V7
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and TK0WfWch
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including >)HKruSW.
the first single, the uplifting love song called BMtk/r/
"Everything." shEAr*u
N8DouDq
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver FNs$k=* 8
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, _S,UpR~2W
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New qDcoccEf
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely $b[Ha{9(v
at home on the stage." R8 LHwRQ
BSL+Gjj~}
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the Fkg%_v$
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will B.!&z-)#
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new c D .;
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is X3] [C
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many 9e4`N"#,lI
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the s@E) =;!
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with nvA7eTO6C
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," #.vp \W
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). 2Da0*xn{
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had [dXa,
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry x=-(p}0o;<
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded DXFDs=u
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, r?w>x`
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff jxZf,]>T
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David "T h;YJu
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it m.<or?l'y>
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and j{johV+`8
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" %<r}V<OeR
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the <m0=bm{j
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - E@6gTx*
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called W*?qOq {
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. 3dJiu
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy )3O#T$h
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their 1]Cd fj6@
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't hUX8j9N>
worry too much about that.'" T`,G57-5
i3pOGa<
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s G`/4 n@
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from *^RoI
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, ?a*w6,y.
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and DL d~
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for =nO:R,U
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships 4`Zo Ar-5|
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't WJI}~/z;C
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end .Yvy37n((
a relationship and still be there when they need you. t 1~k+
That's basically what it's about." ,tDLpnB@;
J@QOF+&
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad DliDBArxZ
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian k2fJ
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered gvPHB+#A
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. S(^YTb7
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? Y]^*mc0fE
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, eA{A3.f"Hz
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that _z1Qr?cY
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, 7IQa Xcl
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact Ov4=!o=
same thing to both of us." @$Yk#N;&(
45x4JG
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, SrGJ#K&%
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," L,!\PV|
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who >FS%-eI6
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's _ nz^+
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, neE Zw#(Z
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song Hzc}NyJ
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same }x& X vI
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? KS1udH^Zc
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to b4EUr SL
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my Y+kuj],h
life is what really makes it worthwhile." {U@"]{3Qx
;#+I"Ow
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank l>L?T#v!_
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes BG)zkn$
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the t,'J%)j
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the v;-0^s/P
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to 2^"! p;WQ
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he kw} E0uY
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite j+S&5C/{
things about the record." -ik=P ]?
j}K 3YfH
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, sva-Sd8
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which vbX.0f "n
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra 2pv by`P4
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer :;TF_S v
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael i3KAJ@
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship U#- 5",X|
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a S6\E  I5S
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the $=#Lf[|f=
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without m-a':
them." '4D7:
*3OlWnZ?
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he Bn%?{z)
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of *_m ER`
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a Q[%G`;e#
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? eu8a<
spent the months his parents were away with his >e(@!\ x
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to 7]Hf3]e>/
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, LNrM`3%2-
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. |`kk mq
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could L]Xx-S
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were uhnnjI
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." ]JvjM,
<AiE~l| D
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of 68w~I7D>
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his Ao*:$:k
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure { .0I!oWv
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met lqgR4 !
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to 2^75|Q
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste {?++T 0
in music. His debut album was an international smash, KY0<N 9{
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his &U CtyCz
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The M?;YpaSe+
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, 90,UhNz9D
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts ;49sou
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for g;OR{
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. :cIPX%S
&~x|w6M]J
But along with his passion for creating great music in the xRO9o3
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael Snn4RB<(
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. 3u 7A(
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. ?)-anoFyVW
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. ?' mP`9I
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, 0LP0q9S:9
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just EP<{3f y
to take them away." ?B)e8i<[f
