The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD N&m_e)E5c
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it 5gshKmt_
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The )~dOmfw%|
first single from the new album, the Buble penned PS}73Y#
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed {OP~8e"

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record NO4Z"3Pd_
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to O:YJ%;w
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th ZLrHZhP-+
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, V%51k{
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. r]T0+oQ>
(:7a&2/M
Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy ]]PE#DDg
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of \z:<DsQ&
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric ]2$x| #Gg}
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny O|e}
Mercer and others. x*q35K^PE
E-SG8U;
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, `tVy_/3(9
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad b 4OnZ;FI
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men ^{[[Z.&R?
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian ;_N5>3C:
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the aq$q ~,E
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these p[qg&VKB
two voices from two totally different generations yWY|]Pp
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is J>h;_jA
universal and ageless. 2(+P[(N1,
$>r5>6
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're (w$'o*z;(
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, $3\,h; y
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this ) rpq+~b
record is about." T5e^J"

Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award b-%l-u
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a X8R1a?
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on 6bL~6-h%)
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour `D2Mss$!
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. O{ q&]~,
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 ^P$7A]!
million copies and has remained on the Billboard I`^YAbnb
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in T 6HU*(
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time H~Uq?!=b
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate wOg,SMiq
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage %{'4. ,
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he g>n0z5&TNF
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis A[JM4x
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," >rf5)Y~f
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. GFL-.? 0
%l|\of7P2}
Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third ,YB1 y)x
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with |^Kjz{
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under 5[R?iSGL1
his belt can sum it up in one word. l$M +.GB<
gtYRV*^q
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? "8/dD]=f^a
!y*oF{RZ
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than U^?= 0+
the first two - that it had to show growth without .NnGVxc5*
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there 1;&T^Gdj
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put tX?J@+
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I e U;jP]FA
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, XwPx9+b6j
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in 8Q(8b@ZO,
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually n9] ~
beautiful." P%)b+H{$h
Le@? /
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As sfI N)jh
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's . \F7tc8?
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's '9q6aM/&
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s RL&lKHA
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a } 0{B
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard ?\ Q0kr.T%
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and k ,fTW^?
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including {ERjeuDm]
the first single, the uplifting love song called ],&\%jd<
"Everything." ])N%^Qe$U
R|Y~u*D
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver 28oJFi]
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, uvv.WbZ
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New ,Rz }=j
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely D^$OCj\
at home on the stage." -9-fX(I
?OsS`)T
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the y x;h
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will X4Xf2aXI
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new %h/! Y<%
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is MGybGbd
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many @a(oB.i
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the 784;]wdy\
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with ?D=8{!R3
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," gp/YjUH7k8
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). n(R_#,Hs
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had w1i?# !|
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry )eR$:uO
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded x)R0F\_
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, ~6d5zI4\
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff plXG[1;&G
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David .Dx2 ;lj
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it }cW#045es
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and =l,#iYJP8
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" ML= z<u+
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the ^:z7E1 ~
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - f3 &/r
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called ) b:4uK A
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. 5f_7&NxT
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy @vAFfYU9<.
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their rPO}6lsc
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't `qu] Pxk
worry too much about that.'" x'i0KF
#LWg"i
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s a))*F!}c
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from <25ccE9^c
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, &7Kb]Ti
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and DL4iXULNY
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for <V S2]13
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships SqqDV)Uih1
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't $G3@< BIN
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end f3n~{a,[
a relationship and still be there when they need you. u[EK#%
That's basically what it's about." yjpz_<7a=
f_'"KF[%
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad -tyaE
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian r*Z_+a8
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered ? s4oDi|:
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. <Uwwux<v
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? U>A6eWhH
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, ImHU:iR[J-
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that jL_5]pzJ
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, a8QfkOe
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact VDn:SGj5
same thing to both of us." )7AM3%z1?
<kbnu7?a*
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, q+%!<]7X
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," UkfA}b^@v
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who b1)\Zi
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's aAcKwCGq\
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, }) 7K S?
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song /7vE>mSY
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same f?-J#x)
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? FG# nap{
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to hS_.l}0yf
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my vJThU$s-
life is what really makes it worthwhile." vZk9gGjk
`^e*T'UPl
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank bd{\{[^S!
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes K?YEoz'y[
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the {aIZFe}B
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the !Bj^i cR
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to y@ .b 4
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he FfSI n3
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite r=\P!`{5
things about the record." `oXg<tivU
t= *Jg/$
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, ;qb Dbg
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which y/\ZAtnLo
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra ;sQ2 0 B'
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer f1\7vEE,
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael Xi+n`T'i
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship +wAp,Xr
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a vv* |F
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the l7~Pa0qD
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without }5hZo%w[n
them." 6 >uQt:e
U!NI_uk
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he kQ[Jo%YT?E
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of |Eu*P
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a &Ea"hd
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? WL/5 oj
spent the months his parents were away with his R#LGFXUj
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to 9 tAE#A
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, B!iFmkCy
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. FE}s#n_Pd
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could kyu2)L2u
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were !mae^A1
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." B,MQ.|s[
q|Fjm]AF
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of C (U
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his `GS cRhbh
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure W1`Dx(g
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met B'#4;R!8P=
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to iLQSa7
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste )*W=GY*
in music. His debut album was an international smash, RUqO!s~#rY
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his !G[f[u4Zg
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The *?p ^6vO
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, Cy6%S).c
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts wBE7Bv45
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for ^vG=|X|)c
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. X&.:H~xS+
Nuo^+z E
But along with his passion for creating great music in the ~W3:xnBEk
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael ;/R kMS
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. _hWuAJ9Qy
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. yIWc\wv
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. 7|{ B#
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, '9"%@AFxZ
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just {=qEBbM
to take them away." [bsXF#
