The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD EIl$"^-
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it w1/T>o
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The %v6]>FNP'3
first single from the new album, the Buble penned GF,|;)ly

by the artist on The Today Show on the day of the release. 3qwYicq,

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record Bo\dt@0;
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to 8f`b=r(a>
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th "/]tFY%Y
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, NX #/1=
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. jgfP|oD
7XI4=O};&%
Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy c#-97"_8
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of uL{~(?U$
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric *,=+R$
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny :{='TMJ7
Mercer and others. :FgRe,D
FZI 4?YD?<
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, 'f<_SKd
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad 1H@rNam&
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men |~vQ0D
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian H_r'q9@<>
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the Oh85*3
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these m.g@S30
two voices from two totally different generations zNTu j p
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is *"bp}3$^^
universal and ageless. u z2s-,
:[rKSA]@
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're j24
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, _+Kt=;Y8
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this = y,avR
record is about." a9_KQ=&CI

Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award U@AfRUF&
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a <R8Z[H:bV
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on 5K-)X9z?
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour ]<?)(xz
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. bHT@]`@@
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 tLXw&hFk`g
million copies and has remained on the Billboard G&H"8REm
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in T/6=A$4 #
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time oVsazYJ|?
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate aM}"DY-_ h
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage 25[/'7_"
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he `5&V}"lB
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis bbkI}d%(Ng
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," 0>MI*fnY"
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. j}*+-.YF
<~*Ol+/
Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third kw}1CXD
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with f)P /@rh
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under yE9.]j
his belt can sum it up in one word. >D#}B1(!
o+Z9h1z%,
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? ,LO-!\L
dw!Eao47
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than w8ld* z
the first two - that it had to show growth without m3-J0D<
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there r2'rf pQ
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put .p}Kl$K]
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I $3B?
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, (W!$6+GT
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in ,quTMtk~
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually S$WM&9U
beautiful." d~8~RT2m
~]M"
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As Af<>O$$6
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's d]`,}vi#E9
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's 3~la/$?p0
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s j #YFwX4.
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a NvZ?e
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard ii9/ UtIQ
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and s+- aHn
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including )&Bv\Tfjt
the first single, the uplifting love song called hspg-|R
"Everything." AoeW<}MO
"M &4c:cz
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver }}1Q<puM
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, Bdepvc}[#
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New <LN$[&f#
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely Jo<6M'
at home on the stage." "|SE#k
(=rv `1
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the {[ *_HAy7
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will qH"a!
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new U^\~{X
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is |vzWSm
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many q2vz#\A?
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the 'bPo 5V|
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with v19`7qgR(
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," W^Y0>W~
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). mM>|fHGA
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had "@$STptkc
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry |"v{RC0
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded )n@3@NV
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, +to9].O7y
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff qCN7i&k,
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David 7:'>~>'
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it krc!BK`V
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and :PkZ(WZ9
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" U:hC! t:
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the I=a$1%BzEX
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - . *xq =
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called 'U$VO q?!
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. u_=y,~s
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy Ct+%
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their *PU,Rc()6
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't 5T#D5Z<m
worry too much about that.'" X(28 xbd|
rF3]AW(
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s rxeXz<
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from tuV?:g?
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, QC,(rB
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and ABmDSV5i
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for m-92G8'
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships 2!?z%s-S
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't Y_hRL&u3W
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end ? 4Juw?
a relationship and still be there when they need you. z}&C(m:al
That's basically what it's about." qFbUM;
kA=~ 8N
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad Vp"Ug,1
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian 5THS5'
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered [iy;}5XK
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. f<p4Pkv
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? F>(#Af9
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, \[I .
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that b7sE
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, ptni'W3
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact Z1&GtM
same thing to both of us." Ilu`b|%D
Cy:`pYxhd
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, Q4LlToHn
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," mX.3R+t
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who $_zkq@
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's *u;">H*BW
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, q}v04Yy,o
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song |$?Ux,(6
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same uPC qO+f
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? `pd
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to S*m`'
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my yki51rOI*
life is what really makes it worthwhile." s?x>Yl %
Fxth> O`$
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank QXxLe*
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes V*7Z,nA
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the Pn'(8bRm
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the io r [v
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to :e<`U~8m
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he >yA,@%X
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite n &\'Hm
things about the record." Z~phOv
VXc+Wm*W
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, Q^MXiE O+
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which i B!hEbz
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra vMZ7uO
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer <K#'3&*$s
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael 0fPHh>u
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship }EedHS
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a y LgKS8b
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the `zzKD2y
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without UrhM)h?%
them." P7wqZ?
-q&7J' N
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he LE<u&9I\
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of fZ6 fV=HEF
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a lsB9;I^+x
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? W`Q$t56
spent the months his parents were away with his qF{DArc
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to ia^%Wg7
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, P!FEh'.
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. 5i4V5N>3
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could LmXF`Y$
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were z#{ 0;t
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." YXX36
U R1JbyT
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of \o:ELa HY
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his R81{<q'%X
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure vnC<*k4&v
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met p<=(GY-
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to BKC7kDK3H
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste MegE--h
in music. His debut album was an international smash, G`]v_`>
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his cBLR#Yu;O5
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The %NT`C9][
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, 29Gwv
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts 0%xR<<gir
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for *L%6qxl`V
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. f0 uUbJ5
9Fy\t{ks
But along with his passion for creating great music in the gppBFS
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael 9VoDhsKk
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. pk-yj~F}
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. V$/u
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. q2x|%H RF
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, .FIt.XPzv
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just DtzA$|Q}
to take them away." yZYK wKG
