The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD O?A%
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it ^si[L52BZ
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The !V/7q'&t=
first single from the new album, the Buble penned A+4Kj~`!
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed "f~OC<GdYs
by the artist on The Today Show on the day of the release. s6_i>

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record Y}Y~?kE>M|
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to L?&&4%%
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th L=C#E0{i
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, :!?Fq/!
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. El :% \hGy
#mK?:O\-1
Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy `GCK%evLG
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of OTJMS_IT
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric ovXk~%_
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny o>Dd1 j
Mercer and others. KQw>6)
S0r+Y0J]<
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, g:G5'pZf
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad +bJ~S:[
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men #,XZ@u+
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian a{rUk%x
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the (FgX9SV]p9
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these MpJ<.|h
two voices from two totally different generations q 6>}
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is }?c%L8\
universal and ageless. =]pEvj9o
ZZCm438
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're R1<$VR
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, ^~@3X[No
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this ;<GxonIV
record is about." JV'aqnb.8\
YmjA!n
Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award Eelv i5
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a @>J(1{m=Gy
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on 3/]FT#l]i
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour y"U)&1 c%
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. CY[3%7 fv
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 mh SknyqT
million copies and has remained on the Billboard 1~LfR
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in v*<rNZI
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time koD}o^U#
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate 0]=Bqyg
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage g)|vS>^~
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he k"/Rjd(;
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis 9e vQQN6D|
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," )N1iGJO)
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. v '^}zO

Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third +/]*ChrS
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with }#g+~9UK
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under X-TGrdoX
his belt can sum it up in one word. +o"CMI
R(cg`8
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? .c__T {<)[
gNA!)}m\
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than unbIfl=
the first two - that it had to show growth without p0]\QM l1
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there :)tsz;
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put V d]7v
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I |GsMLY:0
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, M_2>b:#A*
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in ?.lo[X<,*
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually DBLM0*B
beautiful." zpeCT3Q5O
d~h;|Bl[
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As u=vBjaN2_w
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's gG}H5uN
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's M7 k WJ
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s a) P r&9I
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a ;Bzx}7A
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard 7n+,!oJ
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and oayu*a.
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including W|uRQA`
the first single, the uplifting love song called x#zj0vI-8
"Everything." Cg`lQY U
7l~^KsX
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver u^CL }t*
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, - _6`0
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New .9,x_\|G*
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely "bWx<
at home on the stage." lQvgq
T:H~Y+qnt
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the 9&`";dg
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will S7#dyAX8
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new j|N<6GSke
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is a l6y=;\jZ
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many [C<K~
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the M*Ej*#
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with "+wkruC
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," S?C.:
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). iF837ng5
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had op9vz[o#4
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry OJJ [Er1
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded w%\{4T~
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, DG0I- "s
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff Fu5Y<*x
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David "19#{yX4
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it Y Q.Xl_
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and lz36;Fp
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" 8~s0%%{,M
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the d,Oagx
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - \@N~{72:k
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called ]7yxXg
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. ~1twGG_;
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy y,ub*-:
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their k`|E&+og
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't '<uM\v^k
worry too much about that.'" S4{vS?>j
!J X7y%J
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s '-[hy>t
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from Z~8%bfpe
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, m6$&yKQ-=h
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and DLqH*U
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for Vwh ;QJxb
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships #W3H;'~/5
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't _od /)#
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end _;Xlw{FN^
a relationship and still be there when they need you. )z18:C3
That's basically what it's about." @U1|?~M%s
gW--[
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad a7F_{Mm
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian $;Iz7:#jN
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered Jvsy 6R
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. C7*YZe
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? W;UPA~nT~
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, h$6'9rL&i
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that 7iwck.*
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, dh [kx
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact \/;c^!(<
same thing to both of us." J@E]Fl
' -Cx-=
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, &ZkJ,-
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," lX"m |W
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who 8#Z)qQWi_t
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's @SiV3k
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, &B[*L+-E
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song Dr V[1Z
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same S#B%[3@
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? . _|=Btoo
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to L8f+uI
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my FA)ot)]
life is what really makes it worthwhile." 0Ui_Trlc
h9<PP2.(
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank X1a~l|$h
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes CrL9|78
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the '/9j"mIA9$
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the U:n~S
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to ?QJx!'Y,p
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he gT$WG$^i
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite 3C%|src
things about the record." b|DU
qK#"uU8B
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, zF[Xem
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which eF.nNu
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra $hcv}<$/
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer @<pd@Mpf]
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael 6'/ Zq
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship p}1gac_c
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a ] ?D$n
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the 7qOkv1.}0
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without _B erHoQd
them." g|?}a]G
YjTr49Af0
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he 'l~7u({u
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of JmK )Y# A
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a 2#lpIj
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? \i//Aq
spent the months his parents were away with his y'odn ;
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to mhhc}dS(H
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, 8~-TN1H
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. |^UQVNJ
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could )^s> 21
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were fg#e*7Odn
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." _rIo @v
{S9gOg
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of , otXjz
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his iBbaHU*V
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure :'C?uk ?
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met -p)`ob-
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to ^ [HUtq
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste OF']-
in music. His debut album was an international smash, "i/GzD7`n
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his hDW_a y4
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The wdBB x\FP
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, 2ns,q0I A
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts BV>9U5
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for l:e C+[_;>
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. ~zac.:a8
k# Ho7rS&
But along with his passion for creating great music in the kJf0..J[#<
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael 6c-'CW
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. =lk'[P/p`
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. Bl6I@w
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. s-Yu(X2
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, uchQv]VB
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just T3 ie-G@<
to take them away." ,"#nJC
