The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD BJM.iXU)[
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it El.hu%#n*G
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The C8Qa$._
first single from the new album, the Buble penned 2+QYhdw
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed S|7!{}
by the artist on The Today Show on the day of the release. WvBc#s-

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record c:<005\Bg
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to WST8SEzJ
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th Jk7|{W\OA
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, {`LU+
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. M>~Drul
`$,GzS(
Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy y9q8i(E0
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of [d(U38BI
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric YwDbPX
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny lQ" p !
Mercer and others. gkES5Q
\m(VdE
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, K{|p~B
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad &cxRD
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men Y9uC&/_C
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian $c]fPt"i
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the D^l%{IG
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these $8 UUzk
two voices from two totally different generations ]P.'>4
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is :=u?Fqqws
universal and ageless. xe{ !wX
vk77B(u
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're xTj|dza
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, =e9>FWf>
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this v!<gY m&
record is about." 7"sD5N/>uh

Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award t&H?\)!4
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a q"\Z-D0B4
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on 7gj4j^a^]{
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour ,]46I.]
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. 4]?<hH9
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 a%kQl^I4
million copies and has remained on the Billboard gp>3I!bo[K
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in +x0!*3q
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time L^}_~PO N5
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate iII=;:p
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage )wC?T
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he Q.l}NtHwV
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis uJzG|$;
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," @;*Ksy@1O
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. Y$Z x,
a1C{(f)
Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third QRHu 3w
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with {:6r;TB
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under ,}3 'I [
his belt can sum it up in one word. /t+f{VX$
o /j*d3
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? (;T^8mI2
:r{<zd>;
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than /]K^ rw[
the first two - that it had to show growth without F*IzQ(#HW
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there >AVVEv18
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put t;W0"ci9
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I #|L8tuWW
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, +R3k-' >
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in 39:bzUIF
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually PVe xa|aaX
beautiful." @.$|w>>T
1eS&&J5
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As ]Lf{Jboo
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's e?0l"
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's Q6PHpaj
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s [k.tWA,&
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a cpL7!>^=
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard '@o;-'b
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and ]<ldWL
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including ) i;1*jK
the first single, the uplifting love song called ~IYUuWF(
"Everything." - Ajo9H
] eotc2?u
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver r)y=lAyF>
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, bo2H]PL*
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New J\+0[~~
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely B^4&-z2|
at home on the stage." E{XH?_xo
|XQIfW]A
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the 'GNK"XA^
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will Bmr>n6|
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new uGwm r
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is 6a[}'/
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many \H1( PA
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the u_@f$
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with !hJ+Lp_
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," s^Y"'`+
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). $Q&lSVQ
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had K'L^;z6
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry r+A{JHnN
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded KI)M JG:t
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, ;O,+2VzP%^
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff Lt u'W22
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David ,)0H3t
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it s2h@~y
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and J[l7di5
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" qX/y5F`
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the v[ . cd*b
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - MLXNZd
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called GZEc l'h*
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. um jt]Gu[
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy <^VJy5>
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their v:IpMU-+\
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't gH$ Mr
worry too much about that.'" _GV:HOBi
zNs55e.rx
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s xcd#&
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from S=MEG+Ad
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, X3{G:H0\p
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and yQ U{ zY
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for .CL[_;}
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships Q A< Rhv,
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't h{CL{>d
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end =#;3Q~:Jl^
a relationship and still be there when they need you. \K5DOM "#
That's basically what it's about." nL5cK:
MV5_L3M
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad J=\HO8E6>
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian 5&QJ7B,!
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered pV9IHs}
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. C_( *>!Z%
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? caU0\VS
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, '9laa=H%8
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that ynq}76 H0k
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, N@2dA*T,
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact \z>fb%YW
same thing to both of us." ohRjvJ'v|
q3mJ782p]
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, D[4u+g?[}>
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," r)lEofX,g+
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who Bn^0^J-
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's TITKj?*o
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, L9r8BK;
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song Hkk/xNP
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same ?Y$JWEPJ
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? uW=k K0E
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to o m^0}$V
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my A#K14Ayr
life is what really makes it worthwhile." \9cbI3rGz
HguT"%iv
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank _> 5(iDW0
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes hW%TM3l}
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the t#V!8EpBg
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the (]Z_UTT
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to 0g +7uGp:
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he h:W;^\J:-
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite n4s+>|\M
things about the record." YpWPz %`:
{ME2ImD
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, oL!EYbFD'Z
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which rxe >}ZO
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra ,-$LmECg
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer ,g%0`SO
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael D60aH!ft
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship 6w*dKInG[-
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a x/NfZ5e0X
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the O(#)m>A
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without EOIN^4V"
them." cbNTj$'b2u
F5LuSy+v
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he l>2E (Y|
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of {'N Z.
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a ls_'')yp
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? cL-[ZvyVX
spent the months his parents were away with his BHIRH mM<Y
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to Lco~,OE
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, ~d o9;8v
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. Sj-n;F|=X
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could SAH-p*.
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were c-x,fS"&W
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." 61,;Uc\T
e|NG"<
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of L(/e&J@><
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his /1Qr#OJ(]
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure &VhroHO
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met BTl k Etm
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to NiNM{[3oS
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste p?{Xu4(
in music. His debut album was an international smash, .sxcCrQE
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his O)C\v F#
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The zE336
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, N"pc,Q\xU
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts H~oail{EQ
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for xj<Rp|7&
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. Um }
OPetj.C/a
But along with his passion for creating great music in the 2n,*Nd`
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael ~De"?
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. +s"hqm
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. q YC;cKv
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. {i1| R"ta
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, !xzeMVI
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just O6Vtu Ws%
to take them away." $CxKuB(
Yw22z #K
Special edition includes the bonus track "Love" Kh"?%ZIa
