The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD _@\-`>J
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it }c8et'HYf
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The UBv#z&@[
first single from the new album, the Buble penned Jyd[Sc)
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed -GL.8" c[
by the artist on The Today Show on the day of the release. i|H^&$|

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record 1| WDbk
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to M&Q&be84
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th )sIzBC
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, ?jO<<@*2S
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. %A `9[icy

Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy ve/.q^JeJ
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of agoMsxI9
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric I7XM2xM
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny qzY:>>d'
Mercer and others. Rz>@G>b:
sFfargl
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, @(/$;I,
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad vEt=enQ
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men wMm+E "}W
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian /$qB&OWJn
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the IL&R&8'
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these , Z1 &MuV
two voices from two totally different generations >0N$R|B&
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is z2.OR,R}]
universal and ageless. V-%jSe<
V,7Xeh(+5L
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're F%ukT6xp
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, v{SYz<(
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this ?6[u\V
record is about." )1 0aDTlr

Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award =6'D/| 3
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a g>?,,y6/w
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on gU@.IOg
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour jA3Ir;a
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. A{eh$Ot%
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 >va9*pdJ
million copies and has remained on the Billboard _rUsb4r
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in x5yZ+`Gc
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time P^/e!%UgC
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate t2-bw6U
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage y5V]uQSD
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he 8{.:$T
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis B&lF! ]
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," HX:^:pF}
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. `yb,z
y-7$HWn
Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third '$CJZ`nt
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with 4[LzjC
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under m}-~VYDj
his belt can sum it up in one word. ""F' Nzy
HuL9' M
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? '"Dgov$q
SR 1UO'.
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than _i&awm/U
the first two - that it had to show growth without Gm LKg >%
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there Z}6H529[
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put ^pZ\:
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I .SSj=q4?
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, L sMS`o6
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in `Df)wNN1
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually 8:0.Pi(ln@
beautiful." K5q9u-7
7b[vZNi_
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As !xh.S#B
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's M&O .7B1}
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's )0Lv-Gs
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s (%EhkTb
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a > jvi7
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard KGb3n;]
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and H@,(
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including pVm'XP
the first single, the uplifting love song called +3D3[.n
"Everything." w;Na9tR
Obu>xK(
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver qS|t7*
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, p1L8g[\
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New <}$o=>'
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely GoNX\^A
at home on the stage." q\g|K3V)
&iDX+*(
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the jE</a %
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will BHw/~Hd4
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new p M:lg
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is }l>0m
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many PNn{Rt
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the e 03q9(
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with D?3^>h
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," EsU-Ckb_2:
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). bm_'giQ:
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had -&* 4~
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry @m[r0i0J"
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded +Q3i&"QB.
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, dk9'C
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff ;|f|d?Q\
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David gZe(aGh
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it K uz /
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and ee.#Vhz
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" $Aw"?&d"
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the .>0j<|~
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - {f\/2k3
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called tB_GEt2M
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. C$~2FTx
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy 6;g"`l51
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their fG107{!g=
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't OsMU>v }m
worry too much about that.'" ]CD
-lL(:drn
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s =1noT)gC R
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from RG9YA&1ce
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, 0HA`
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and x t7ZrT
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for B 3Y,|*
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships 0>?%{Xy
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't *"\QR>n
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end [=[>1<L>
a relationship and still be there when they need you. x$o?ckyH
That's basically what it's about." 3xSt -MA
ALVHKL2
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad b!C\J
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian K!c "g,S
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered rz%8V igb
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. xx`xDD
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? y3^<rff3Gc
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, mhZ{}~
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that 9?5'>WO
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, b*w@kLLN
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact ?6;9r[ p
same thing to both of us." W_:3Sj l'
i^9,.$<1
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, =]k0*\PS
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," ),ur! v
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who LO8`qq*rq
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's SJg4P4|
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, % ~eIx=s
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song TUw+A6u:p
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same {O ]^8#v^
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? WrB:)Q(8=
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to iI|mFc|V
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my @]v}& j7
life is what really makes it worthwhile." (gY3?&Ok*
eD4D<\*
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank ws1io.
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes l`S2bb6uMR
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the 37OU
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the dwd5P7
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to #|<\q*<
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he ME.l{?v
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite kj_MzgC'?
things about the record."  .dA_}
@d&(*9Y
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, s!WGs_1@
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which _ebo
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra GRM:o)4;#
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer e"7<&% Oq
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael T_\Nvzb}
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship K/xn4N_UX
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a 99<]~,t=5
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the Gw!VPFV>W
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without sIUhk7Cd8
them." w ]8+ OP
oT7 6)O
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he uX82q.u_y
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of HQtR;[1
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a 52X[ {
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? BK$cN>J
spent the months his parents were away with his o#GZ|9IL
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to Qt-7jmZw1
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, 5&59IA%S
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. Z^tTR]u\$
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could *Ubsa9'fS
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were Y~E 8z
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." WC& V9Yk
<{ZDD]UGs0
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of ltQo_k
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his p.wed% O.
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure bwrM%BL
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met 0m2%ucKw
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to m*bTELb
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste |7Dc7p"D
in music. His debut album was an international smash, QZwUv<*
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his rra|}l4Y
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The t QR qQ
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, hn`yc7<}(u
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts %mqep5n(
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for '80mhrEutG
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. wh Hp}r
 }?eO.l{
But along with his passion for creating great music in the p{@jM
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael FIMM\W
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. 5#275Hyv
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. W;Y"J_
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. rY?]pMp
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, v2Ft=_*G|
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just s9#WkDR
to take them away." ys/U.e|)!
