The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD UMcM&yu-
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it 3s\UU2yr
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The s>9I#_4]
first single from the new album, the Buble penned Vjs2Yenx
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed %<i sdvF
by the artist on The Today Show on the day of the release. ,>|tQ'

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record F6{g{ B
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to ,#a4P`q'iC
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th /Pjd"
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, #rHMf%0
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. OPvPP>0*8
mQj#\<*
Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy 4vg,g(qi<
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of O"9t,B>=i
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric zJ`u>:*$
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny [gzaOP`f
Mercer and others. bbL\xq^
s'O%@/;J
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, @= <{_p
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad l,n_G/\
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men Vmz#u1gGT6
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian y)r`<B
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the piIZ*@'
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these t%@iF U;}
two voices from two totally different generations b~;:[ #
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is Ust +g4
universal and ageless. :GvC#2 p
 ;LS.
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're &zn|),
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, h]zok}$
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this ~XUUrg;
record is about." cGE{dWz
R;"$PH D
Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award PvKGB01_
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a {[uhIJD3g6
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on 2e6P?pX~2
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour 8Y SvBy
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. eKP >} `
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 1^IMoC7$#
million copies and has remained on the Billboard $`xpn#l z
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in c{ 'Z.mut
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time 1dD%a91
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate Jq1oQu|rs
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage 6@aH2+4+
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he n3e,vP? R
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis /G5KNSi
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," 8] LF{Obz[
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. _d!sSyk`

Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third 4n#u?)
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with H Qj,0#J)
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under y^r'4zN'
his belt can sum it up in one word. $y;w@^
II^Rp],>
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? ~U+<JC Z
h`Jc%6o
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than QXI~Toddj
the first two - that it had to show growth without #h.N#{9
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there Eq@sU?j
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put GS*O{u
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I gvVy0nJI~
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, b$w66q8
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in iBWzxPv:z
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually JKKp5~_~
beautiful." \Vv)(/q{
H:b"Vd"x9
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As fe\'N4
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's 8y<mHJ[B
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's I'D3~UI f
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s %2RXrH2&H
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a mAH7; u<
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard 9f['TG,"
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and x~'_;>]r_
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including [\F:NLjiUy
the first single, the uplifting love song called 4][VK/v+
"Everything." yS)k"XNb
B^19![v3T
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver 9X[378f+(
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, !yg &zzP*
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New VI3fvGHat{
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely i~GW
at home on the stage." &tkPZ*}#1
Z4 z|B&
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the (9bU\4F\
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will 5I* 1CIO
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new uA`e
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is vkLt#yj~
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many !B[ Y?b:
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the e_Zs4\^ef
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with C&F% j.<
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," [YQtX_;w
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). oCwep^P(v
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had ;E}&{w/My
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry "-fyX!
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded &=zJ MGa
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, gISA13
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff SFzoRI=qG
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David 9[t-W:3c7
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it zCq6k7u
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and WKr4S<B8mr
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" L9[m/(:y
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the YTgT2w
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - q.:a4w J
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called 2+|r*2_glo
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. 5m;pHgkb
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy [)Ia Xa
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their 3b?-83a
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't >$<Q:o}^
worry too much about that.'" zBrIhL]95
NgGpLdaC2v
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s r& RJ'z
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from `, |l
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, W OYZ
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and | /-# N
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for a"+/fC`
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships CE183l\
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't yl<=_Q
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end ,0L< wa
a relationship and still be there when they need you. 11$v~<M
That's basically what it's about." 84(jg P
WUDXx %
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad PC=s:`Y}R
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian PVKq&Q?
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered Kd#64NSi$A
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. PHsM)V+
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? NFU=PS$
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, 4yu=e;C wy
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that D -e^b'l
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, 4!glgEE*
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact k \t6b1.M
same thing to both of us." d76C ]R5L
Y5>'(A>
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, LQ$dT#z2A
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," Xp^>SSt:4
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who B]D51R\}VE
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's X bV?=
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, -r_Pp}s
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song XF4NRs
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same RvW>kATb_F
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? I7ySm12}
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to lKirc2
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my UR`pZ.U?
life is what really makes it worthwhile." Tq6@ 1j6p
HV3D$~gF
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank IetV]Ff6
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes Z${@;lgP
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the ~fA H6FdZ\
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the zpcm`z
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to lVb;,C%K
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he ]o8~b-
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite V[| k:($
things about the record." RML'C:1
lce~6}
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, * 8D(Lp1
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which el0W0T
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra (7aE!r\Ab
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer Lj3q?>D*^6
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael [h :FJ
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship b~G|Bhxa
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a B gG+
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the HQ|{!P\/?U
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without TLzcQ|
them." m+'X8}GC#O
XG6UV('
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he PDh1*bf{u
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of Z Q9's
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a )&elr,b /y
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? f1VA61z{)
spent the months his parents were away with his 20uR?/|@
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to *r3u=oWb
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, @}N;C ..Y$
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. [C~{g#
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could T\HP5&
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were _nnl+S>K
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." y+[wlo&WC
Yc'7F7.<6
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of @*LESN>T@t
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his YI?y_S
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure Y6 @A@VJ
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met ].w$b)G
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to }oTac
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste e.g$|C^$m
in music. His debut album was an international smash, (3G]-
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his P(r}<SM
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The 80M4~'3
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, KK*"s^ L
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts ?+#E&F
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for ?3i-wpzMp
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. M*c`@\

But along with his passion for creating great music in the #P6;-d@a
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael `qsn;
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. v4< x 4
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. /SD2e@x{U
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. e{9(9qE"
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, A d7=JzV
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just [ !:.9
to take them away." Hv>Hz*s_I
