The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD +^J-'7Vt
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it _onp%*
was confirmed by his record label, Reprise Records. The p0rwiBC=q
first single from the new album, the Buble penned @1F'V'
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed 0H3T'J%r
by the artist on The Today Show on the day of the release. Q@2tT&eL

The Vancouver native, whose collective worldwide record \u]CD}/
sales are over 11 million units, is also scheduled to lkfFAwnc
begin a global concert tour in Reno, Nevada on July 13th k,7+=.6
with stops including Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, 5ZA%,pH>Jq
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle. PEBFN
?nZ <?
Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy z}1xy+
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of }o^A^
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric g&4~nEp
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny z/KZ[qH\
Mercer and others. j#e.rNG
#eC;3Kq#-
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, ;:c%l.Y2
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad B Z?W>'B%$
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men aEDN]O95?
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian zcB 2[eaV
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the b.4Xn0-M
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these \5P.C
two voices from two totally different generations qu ~|d}0
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is Fd[h9 G
universal and ageless. ,%h!%nz!
r%l%yCH
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're g`OOVaB
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, uXLZtfu{
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this +V9B
record is about." bw<w u}ED

Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award jRG\C=&(x
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a (a}
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on P/pjy
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour y5/6nvH_6
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. YvruK: I
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 `.'i V[fr
million copies and has remained on the Billboard lV<Tsk'
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in kV ,G,wo
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time mhk/>+hF
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate 3fxNV<
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage cVay=5].
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he -@L's{J{M
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis "]m*816'
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," v'@b.R,
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. *sw-eyn(
( f,J_
Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third MdH97L)L.0
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with ]iDJ*!I
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under uyNJN
his belt can sum it up in one word. Vd +Q:L
<'[Ku;m
"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? S9p?*
h `ME(U~<<
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than BMNr<P2li
the first two - that it had to show growth without 9&%#nN4`8
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there n}A?jOSAe
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put xHB/]Vd-
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I o-~~,n\
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, nMG rG
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in |rFR8srPG
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually JzMZB"Z?
beautiful." 5r4gmy>
l RDxIuTK
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As YZGS-+
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's w(/DTQc~d
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's -@2'I++"@
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s A)Qh
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a ~o@\ n
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard :)p)=c8%
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and JoCA{Fa}
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including ,;.B4
the first single, the uplifting love song called EqnpMHF
"Everything." 't( }Rq@
'Y!pY]Z
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver A XBkJ'jd
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, v**z$5x9
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New kG1;]1tT#
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely [q-;/ed
at home on the stage." dTN$y\
*bA+]&dj\
Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the u#+RUtM
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will gg-};0P-
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new ?MC(}dF0
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is Xsd $*F@<
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many \+k, :8s/
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the ^/>Wr'w
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with 4\N_ G @
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," J/'M N
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). wE$s'e
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had U:]MgZWn
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry F7{R~mS;
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded c>ad0xce6
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, 1")FWN_K/T
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff p9-0?(]
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David M8';% =@
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it G#H9g PY
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and bD35JG^&i
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" RF_[?O)Q
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the W+gpr|R2
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - 4xm&pQo{V6
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called '>3`rsu
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. =}JBA>q(
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy <jeh`g
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their X Orcygb2
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't akT|Y4KxD
worry too much about that.'" s^w\zzYb
9ilM@SR
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s )Zas x6`
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from vsKl#R B
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, vwKw?Z0%J
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and v f`9*xF
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for P##Z[$IJ3
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships #?9 Q{0e
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't uBmxh%]C~
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end bV@7mmz:X+
a relationship and still be there when they need you. a3q\<"|
That's basically what it's about." (ZV;$N-t
HZ }6Q
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad %>Bko,ET
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian AD]e0_E
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered =3*Jj`AV
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. |rMq;Rgu?
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? M% @
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, k oM]S+1
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that ! k,<|8(0
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, R<_?W#$j
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact M>T[!*nTj
same thing to both of us." rvic%bsk
2F1ZAl
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, `<^*jB@P
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," u_.HPA
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who ]:&n-&@L
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's ^'vIOq-1v
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, B7 HQR{t
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song >uTPjR[
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same [Tb\woU
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? 3jF|Ic
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to -#aZF2z
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my 'M8aW!~
life is what really makes it worthwhile." Wr5Q5s)c
hK(tPl$
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank x=-0zV
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes =EW3&+Lt
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the vX+.e1m
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the qD-fw-,:
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to [ ?iqqG.
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he ^ av6HFQ
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite :a.0he s
things about the record." $n-Af0tK
0z`/Hn
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, nUc;/
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which VD$ Eb
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra mV?&%>*(f
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer rJQ=9qn\
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael Jx$iwu
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship R"+wih
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a +K^h!d]
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the ,r=re!QI7
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without tz4 ]hF
them." , T\-;7
.:y5U}vR
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he 5 y
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of 6Y1J2n"
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a :CaTP%GW
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? ZenPw1-
spent the months his parents were away with his S`iR9{+&
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to !>n|c$=;qk
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, r`6:Q&&
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. :l,OalO
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could h^oH^moq<
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were #. ct5
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." }ptMjT{9
.!RavEg+
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of `~h4D(n`
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his #`ls)-`7
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure _KN/@(+F
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met {.CMD9F[
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to Ei5wel6!
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste uWjU OJEe
in music. His debut album was an international smash, s;Y<BD
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his .Evy_o\^
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The Izo!rC
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, eLfvMPVo
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts nt ,7u(
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for *1^$.Q&
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. -M4p\6)Ge
``|AgIg
But along with his passion for creating great music in the 6/tI8H3E
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael SfB8!V|;
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. m"d/b~q
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. i ]o"_=C
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. W7=V{}b+
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, 2Y OKM #N]
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just s_ bR]G
to take them away." CO^Jz

Special edition includes the bonus track "Love" )TJS4?
