The one and only Michael Buble's eagerly awaited new CD %o:2^5\W
"Call Me Irresponsible' will be released on May 1st, it I<8sI%,s

first single from the new album, the Buble penned ZG du|
"Everything", has just been released and will be performed >+ 4huRb

Call Me Irresponsible highlights include Buble's energy vJU*>U,
infused interpretations on standards from a variety of K a(J52
eras including songs by such greats as Leonard Cohen, Eric #~.w&~ :
Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, Harold Arlen, Johnny /M*a,o
Mercer and others. zdEPDd B
}LijnHH.
Produced by David Foster and Humberto Gattica, " $ew~;z
Irresponsible includes a touching Buble written ballad Iz{R}#8CZ
called "Lost," along with a rocking duet with Boys II Men sPb=82~z
of the old Mel Torme' hit "Coming Home Baby." Brazilian `QUy;%+
singer Ivan Lens also makes a guest appearance on the ?w+Ix~k
Clapton written "Wonderful Tonight". The pairing of these Zt&6Ua[Y}
two voices from two totally different generations @bnG:np
magnifies Buble's summation of this record-love is !DI{:I_h(
universal and ageless. z ly unJD(
wj1{M.EF\
As for the album, Buble says, "It's all about love. We're pIKSs<IP
either in love, dreaming about love recovering from it, FA }_(Hf.[
wishing for it or reflecting on it. That's what this 3t0[^cY8=z
record is about." en:4H

Michael BubleThe Grammy-nominated, four-time Juno Award "luR9l,RRE
winning Buble arrived on the music scene with a "/nNM{^
groundbreaking 2003 self-titled debut CD and embarked on !E-Pa5s
what would virtually become a perpetual concert tour 3^Q]j^e4Ny
circling the globe continuously for the last five years. CCX8>09
His multi platinum follow-up, "It's Time," sold over 5.5 V86Xg:?7
million copies and has remained on the Billboard ocyb5j
Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years and in %O<%UmR
the No. 1 slot for over 80 weeks, holding the all time 8B#GbS K
record. His reputation as one of the world's consumate M!tXN&V]
'entertainers' is by now legendary. "Buble's stage b77>$[xB
presence is magnetic. He has charisma, energy and when he @mBX~ ?=Z3
sings, words float out of his mouth; he swivels like Elvis a+9 *@z2
with a flash of a tap dancing Fred Astaire. He has fun," l?q%?v8
raved the London Sunday Times Magazine. 4#'(" #R

Ask Michael Bubl?how he felt going in to record his third a!mf;m
studio album, Call Me Irresponsible, and this artist with A;O~#Chvd
11 million albums sold and two Grammy nominations under iK IOh('G
his belt can sum it up in one word. 03iv3/{H

"Terrified," he says simply. Terrified? fI7j):h;
|P.6<
"Completely, because I knew that it had to be better than .<K iMh
the first two - that it had to show growth without 3tmdi3s
alienating anyone, and that's a tough line. So I sat there #%FN>v3e
from the very beginning and came up with the songs, put 3w!c`;c%
together the skeleton, and thought about what arrangers I /2RajsK
would hire. I even ended up at the mastering session, )Y8",Ig
which artists rarely attend. I wanted to be involved in PDLpNTBf
every aspect because I wanted it to be conceptually {h KjD"?
beautiful." ?9X&tK)E-
ne>g?"Pex{
Bubl?has certainly achieved success on that front. As LjH*rjS4
with his previous two 143/Reprise bestsellers, 2003's i"j(b|?e
self-titled debut and 2005's multi-platinum follow-up It's N<L`c/
Time, Call Me Irresponsible boasts more of Bubl?s 2PR^:h2
buoyant, modern interpretations of standards from a ;=< ^0hxer
variety of eras, including songs by such greats as Leonard ~Gqno
Cohen, Eric Clapton, Cy Coleman, Gamble and Huff, and 5c;h &
others, as well as two self-penned originals, including Zv_jy@k
the first single, the uplifting love song called C P3<1~
"Everything." er.CDKD%L
:vL1}H<
But it's hardly business as usual for this Vancouver 1H,g=Y4f%
native. It never is for Bubl? whose irrepressible spirit, 7 ua6l[c
engaging humor, and confident charisma once led the New 8v)_6p(<x8
York Times to call him "an entertainer who is completely EOoZoVdzx
at home on the stage." O`$#Pg

Michael BubleHis new CD, which he calls "my remark on the 3<?XTv-
state of love," contains a depth of feeling that will G8IY#
surprise and delight long-term fans and impress those new T'fcc6D5p
to his music. "To me, what's different about this CD is Z.wA@ ~e
that it has a certain raw emotion because I recorded many M@thI%lR
of these songs live in the studio." Bubl?introduces the 9F^;!
electrifying, impeccably orchestrated set to follow with A`u$A9[
the opening track, Cy Coleman's "The Best Is Yet To Come," '?Jxt:<
(made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). e\b`n}nC
Then there's the exhilarating, salsa-flavored "It Had PjIeZ&p
Better Be Tonight," written by Johnny Mercer and Henry =D^TK-H
Mancini, which Bubl?attacks with a hot-blooded s6 }X t=j
vengeance-"another very sexy songand edgy." From there, SjEdyN#
he takes on "Me and Mrs. Jones," the 1972 Gamble and Huff 9%IlW
classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. "David WM)F0@"
(Foster) brought it to me, I'd never actually heard it Q8MS,7y/
before," Bubl?says. "We wanted it to be authentic and K+T .o6+
tell the story." Next up is Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" i%#$*
from the Canadian singer/songwriter's 1988 album of the =_[Z W
same name. "I always thought it was a wonderful song - n tP|\E
desperate, sexy, and dark," Bubl?says. "I actually called - ~4+w
Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. SjdZyJa
When he asked me why, I said because he'd written too sexy F.)!3YE
of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their d3]hyTqbtm
underpants at me. He just laughed and said, 'I wouldn't 4q$H
worry too much about that.'" C#w]4$/
ofW+_DKB?l
Then there's a swinging, hep-cat version of Mel Torm?s &)pK%SAM
1962 pop hit "Comin' Home Baby," featuring vocals from fB+b}aoV
Philly soul faves Boys II Men; and a sentimental, ap}5ElMR
self-penned ballad "Lost," co-written with Chang and MbXq`%
Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden. "It's an anthem for lr2 rQo >
star-crossed lovers," Bubl?says. "Sometimes relationships $A$@|]}p
don't work out because love isn't enough, but that doesn't 1IgHc.s
mean you have to discard the person. There is a way to end t?^9HP1b_
a relationship and still be there when they need you. M_``'gw
That's basically what it's about." {?{U,&
-n*;W9
A languid, emotional rendition of Eric Clapton's ballad 'xFYUU]#T^
"Wonderful Tonight," on which Bubl?duets with Brazilian (}:C+p 'I
singer-songwriter Ivan Lins, whose work has been covered :Au /2
by everyone from Sarah Vaughan to Ella Fitzgerald follows. )h^NR3N
"I've always been very sentimental about that song," Bubl? !CjqL~
says. "What is interesting about that track is here I am, <SVmOmJ-K
a 31-year-old guy from Canada who's singing a song that ~@8+hnE]
means so much to me with a 61-year-old man from Brazil, =ex'22
who's singing in his own language but it means the exact 5A&y]5-Q`
same thing to both of us." e(1k0W4B
&!35/:~uD
Other highlight's include two of Bubl?s original songs, ~k'V*ERNSj
including the acoustic-guitar driven "Everything," +ySY>`1k~
co-written with Amy Foster-Gillies and Alan Chang (who 4(vyp.f
also co-wrote Bubl?s touching hit ballad "Home" off It's 0p fnV%
Time) and produced by fellow Canadian Bob Rock (Bon Jovi, 2:$ k
Metallica, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams). "I wrote that song uG>nV
about the great happiness of real love, but at the same gUB{Bh($Y
time I was making a statement about the world," Bubl? K%}}fw2RMN
says. "We're living in really crazy times, and I wanted to ,M3z!=oIGn
say that no matter what's happening, this person in my z#<P} }
life is what really makes it worthwhile." tiLu75vj
'Zk<l#"}
Michael BubleRounding out Call Me Irresponsible is Frank eSl-9 ^
Sinatra's "That's Life," which, in Bubl?s hands, becomes 3z{S}~
a powerhouse complete with a full choir. "I brought the 4x'AC%&Qi
song to a wonderful guy named Mervyn Warren, from the (OQ?<'Qa
acappella group Take 6 and said, 'I want to take this to sXl ??UGe
church; I want to make it a huge gospel tune.' So he 'nK~'PZ,
brought in a choir and I love it. It's one of my favorite PdY>#Cyh
things about the record." v9}[$HWx
H]&!'\aUz
To help him capture the intensity in the songs' meanings, d^39t4
Bubl?turned to his long-standing team of producers, which ]Qi,j#X
include 14-time Grammy winner David Foster (Barbra =:h3w#_c
Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban) and producer/engineer R V!o4"\]
Humberto Gatica (Elton John, Destiny's Child, Michael 2w?G.pO#
Jackson). "We definitely have a great working relationship dm R3Y.\jd
where I think I interfere just enough," Bubl?says with a ] mj v;C
laugh. "I mean, David is the greatest producer in the SZVV40w
world. They're both so amazing, I couldn't do it without "E*8h/4u
them." }sMW3'V
i#,1i VSG
Foster first discovered Bubl?seven years ago when he rbk<z\pc
caught the aspiring star performing at the wedding of !Y;<:zx5
former Canadian Prime Minster's daughter. The son of a "+iAd.qd
British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bubl? >,h1N$A+
spent the months his parents were away with his s?O&ZB2GM[
music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to b?kPN:U#N/
the singers who would become Bubl?s idols: Bobby Darin, ]5|z3<K^
Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. 2H&{1f\Bf
"These guys were triple threats," he says. "They could p27p~b&
sing, they could dance, they could act. They were |*Ot/TvG
entertainers, and I believe that's a lost art now." \Tq "mw9P
kqB\xlS7k
Bubl?honed his skills as a showman through years of Ku3!*n_\
performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars - gigs his ]Sta]}VQ
grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure p[YWSjf
by trading his plumbing services. By the time Foster met wL<j:>Ke[3
him 2000, Bubl?already knew exactly what he brought to =aow d4 t
the table - a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste |}qjqtZ
in music. His debut album was an international smash, C<he4n.
going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his g'G8 3F
first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The 3kLOoL?
follow-up, It's Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, - s|t^
and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts }(=ml7)v
for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for GqjO>v fy
more than 80 weeks, an all-time record. ZBj6KqfST%

But along with his passion for creating great music in the `=!p$hg($
studio, performing on stage is pure paradise for Michael ez0\bym
Bubl? "I just love getting in front of people," he says. >=!AL,:
"It's so important to be in touch with your audience. ?;8M^a/
They've paid their money. I want them to be entertained. \ j]~>9
If they want to cry or laugh or dance or sing or yell, k.Zll,s
they can do whatever they want. My responsibility is just md6*c./Z
to take them away." 3%NE/lw1
